Sahih al-Bukhari 732 (Book 10, Hadith 126) #706
Following the Imam in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us to follow the Imam in prayer and to say "Rabbana wa laka l-hamd" when the Imam says "Sami'a l-lahu liman hamidah".

Narrated Anas bin Malik Al-Ansari: Allah's Messenger rode a horse and fell down and the right side of his body was injured. On that day he prayed one of the prayers sitting and we also prayed behind him sitting. When the Prophet finished the prayer with Taslim, he said, "The Imam is to be followed and if he prays standing then pray standing, and bow when he bows, and raise your heads when he raises his head; prostrate when he prostrates; and if he says "Sami'a l-lahu liman hamidah", you should say, "Rabbana wa laka l-hamd.:

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about following the Imam in prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we are praying with an Imam, we should follow him and do what he does. For example, if he stands up for prayer then we should stand up too; if he bows down then we should bow down too; and if he says “Sami’a Allahu liman hamidah” then we should say “Rabbana wa laka alhamd” after him. This teaches us to be obedient to our leaders and shows us how important it is to pray together as a community.
