Sahih al-Bukhari 7330 (Book 96, Hadith 59) #7034
Changes in Measurement Over Time

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the Sa' measure used to be equal to one Mudd and one third of a Mudd, but it has become larger in modern times.

Narrated As-Sa'ib bin Yazid: The Sa' (a kind of measure) during the lifetime of the Prophet used to be equal to the one Mudd (another kind of measure) and one third of a Mudd which we use today, but the Sa' of today has become large.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for accuracy when measuring something

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of measurement and how it can change over time. During the lifetime of the Prophet, a Sa' was equal to one Mudd and one third of a Mudd. However, today's Sa' is much larger than what it used to be. This hadith reminds us that things can change over time and we should always strive for accuracy when measuring something. It also shows us that even though things may change, we should still respect the teachings of our beloved prophet as they are timeless and will always remain relevant no matter how much time passes by.
