Sahih al-Bukhari 7142 (Book 93, Hadith 6) #6861
Obeying the Ruler Regardless of Race

SUMMARY: Obeying the ruler is important, even if they are not of your own race.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "You should listen to and obey, your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian (black) slave whose head looks like a raisin".

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen to and obey your ruler even if they are from a different race than you are.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of obedience to one's ruler, regardless of their race or ethnicity. It teaches us that we should respect and obey our rulers, no matter what their background may be. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used an example of an Ethiopian slave to illustrate this point; he was emphasizing that it does not matter who is in charge, as long as we obey them and follow their orders. This hadith also teaches us about equality; it shows us that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their race or ethnicity. We should all strive to treat each other with kindness and compassion, no matter what our differences may be.
