Sahih al-Bukhari 7121 (Book 92, Hadith 68) #6840
Signs of The Hour

SUMMARY: The hadith speaks of the signs of the Hour, which will be marked by a great battle between two groups, the appearance of thirty Dajjals, death of religious scholars, earthquakes and other calamities. It also mentions that people will become so wealthy that they won't find anyone to accept their charity and they will compete in constructing high buildings. Finally it states that when the sun rises from the West everyone will believe but it won't benefit them as they didn't believe before.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "The Hour will not be established I till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine, II till about thirty Dajjals (liars) appear, and each one of them will claim that he is Allah's Messenger , III till the religious knowledge is taken away (by the death of Religious scholars) IV earthquakes will increase in number V time will pass quickly, VI afflictions will appear, VII Al-Harj, (ie, killing) will increase, VIII till wealth will be in abundance ---- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his Zakat, and whenever he will present it to someone, that person (to whom it will be offered) will say, 'I am not in need of it, IX till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings, X till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say, 'Would that I were in his place (11) and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it (rising from the West) they will all believe (embrace Islam) but that will be the time when: (As Allah said,) 'No good will it do to a soul to believe then, if it believed not before, nor earned good (by deeds of righteousness) through its Faith'. (6.158) And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it, nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank (for his livestock) is able to water (his animals) in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel (of food) to his mouth but will not be able to eat it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds even if you don’t know when exactly The Hour is going to happen .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the signs that indicate when The Hour is near. It speaks about a great battle between two groups who follow one religious doctrine and thirty Dajjals who claim to be Allah's Messenger. There are also other calamities such as earthquakes increasing in number, time passing quickly, afflictions appearing and Al-Harj increasing. People will become so wealthy that no one would accept their charity anymore and they would compete in constructing high buildings. Finally it states that when the sun rises from West everyone would believe but it wouldn't benefit them as they didn't believe before this event happened. This hadith teaches us to always stay prepared for The Hour by doing good deeds even if we don’t know when exactly it is going to happen because we can never be sure what tomorrow brings us with itself. We should always strive for righteousness even if we don’t see its immediate results because only then our faith can save us on Judgement Day .
