Gender Appropriate Behaviour

SUMMARY: The Prophet cursed those men and women who act in a manner that is not appropriate to their gender, and instructed his followers to turn them out of their houses.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet cursed the effeminate men and those women who assume the similitude (manners) of men. He also said, "Turn them out of your houses". He turned such-and-such person out, and 'Umar also turned out such-and-such person.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ الْمُخَنَّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، وَالْمُتَرَجِّلاَتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ، وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَأَخْرَجَ فُلاَنًا، وَأَخْرَجَ عُمَرُ فُلاَنًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of behaving in a way that is appropriate for one's gender. The Prophet cursed those men and women who do not act according to the norms of their gender, and instructed his followers to turn them out of their houses. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to behave in a way that is suitable for our gender, as this will bring blessings from Allah upon us. It also teaches us the importance of following the instructions given by the Prophet, even if they may seem difficult or uncomfortable at times. We should strive to be good role models for others by adhering to these teachings so that we can be blessed with Allah's mercy.
