Sahih al-Bukhari 6806 (Book 86, Hadith 35) #6548
The Seven Who Will Receive Allah's Shade

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of seven people who will be rewarded with Allah's shade on the Day of Resurrection. These people are a just ruler, a young man devoted to Allah, one who remembers Allah and cries in seclusion, one who regularly attends the mosque for prayer, two friends who love each other for Allah's sake, one who refuses to commit illegal sexual intercourse despite being tempted by a noble lady and finally someone who gives charity in secret.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Seven (people) will be shaded by Allah by His Shade on the Day of Resurrection when there will be no shade except His Shade. (They will be), a just ruler, a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, a man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears, a man whose heart is attached to mosques (offers his compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque), two men who love each other for Allah's Sake, a man who is called by a charming lady of noble birth to commit illegal sexual intercourse with her, and he says, 'I am afraid of Allah,' and (finally), a man who gives in charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of seven people whom will be blessed with the shade of God on the Day of Resurrection. The first is a just ruler; someone whose decisions are fair and impartial. The second is a young man brought up worshipping God; someone whose faith has been nurtured from an early age. The third is someone whose heart is so full when they remember God that their eyes fill with tears; this person has such strong faith that it brings them to tears when they think about it. The fourth is someone who regularly attends the mosque for prayer; this person puts their faith into practice by attending religious services regularly. Fifthly are two friends that love each other purely out of devotion to God; these two have such strong faith that it binds them together as brothers or sisters in spirit even if not related by blood or marriage. Sixthly is someone tempted by an attractive woman but refuses her advances out of fear for God’s judgement; this person puts their faith before any worldly desires they may have felt at the time. Finally there’s somebody so generous with charity that even their left hand doesn’t know what their right hand gave away; this person shows true devotion to helping others without expecting anything in return or recognition from anyone else but God himself. All these qualities show true devotion and piety which will be rewarded on Judgement Day when all those blessed with His shade will find peace and solace from His mercy and grace forevermore .
