Be honest in your dealings with others

This hadith explains the punishment for stealing according to Islamic teachings. It was narrated by Abu Huraira, who reported that the Prophet Muhammad said, “Allah curses a man who steals an egg and gets his hand cut off, or steals a rope and gets his hands cut off”. Al-A'mash added that people used to interpret the Baida as an iron helmet, and they used to think that the rope may cost a few Dirhams. This hadith teaches us that stealing is considered a major sin in Islam and it is punishable by law. It also shows us how serious Allah takes this crime as He has prescribed such harsh punishments for it. We should all strive to be honest in our dealings with others so we can avoid such punishments from Allah.
