Reward for Freeing a Slave

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that freeing a Muslim slave will be rewarded by Allah, and the reward is so great that even the private parts of the person who freed the slave will be saved from Hellfire.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "If somebody manumits a Muslim slave, Allah will save from the Fire every part of his body for freeing the corresponding parts of the slave's body, even his private parts will be saved from the Fire) because of freeing the slave's private parts".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of freeing slaves. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that if someone manumits a Muslim slave, Allah will save every part of their body from Hellfire as a reward for freeing another person's body. This means that even if someone has done wrong in their life and they free a Muslim slave before they die, Allah will forgive them and save them from punishment in Hellfire. It is also important to note that this hadith does not only apply to those who are able to free slaves financially; it applies to anyone who helps free slaves in any way possible. For example, if someone speaks out against slavery or works with an organization dedicated to ending slavery then they too can receive this reward from Allah.

The values taught by this hadith are mercy and compassion towards others as well as justice for those who have been wronged or enslaved unjustly. It also teaches us about forgiveness and how we should strive to do good deeds even when we have done wrong in our lives because these good deeds can still be rewarded by Allah no matter what our past may look like.

Finally, this hadith reminds us of how powerful our actions can be; even something as small as speaking out against injustice or helping free one person can make an impact on many people's lives and bring about positive change in society overall.
