EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that it is not necessary to fast on the two days of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Umar, who said he was asked about a man who vowed to fast all his life but then came the day of 'Id al Adha or 'Id-al-Fitr. He replied that we have a good example in Allah's Messenger, who did not fast on those two days. This shows us that we should also follow this sunnah and refrain from fasting during these two special occasions. We should instead celebrate with our families and friends by exchanging gifts, eating delicious food, wearing nice clothes, etc., as this will bring joy to our hearts and make us feel closer to Allah SWT.
