The Characteristics of People in Paradise and Hell

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ is telling us that the people of Paradise are those who are humble and keep their promises, while the people of Hell are those who are violent, cruel and arrogant.

Narrated Haritha bin Wahb: I heard the Prophet saying, "Shall I tell you of the people of Paradise? They comprise every poor humble person, and if he swears by Allah to do something, Allah will fulfill it; while the people of the fire comprise every violent, cruel arrogant person".

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith narrated by Haritha bin Wahb we learn about the characteristics of people in Paradise and Hell. The Prophet tells us that the people of Paradise comprise every poor humble person who keeps their promises to Allah. On the other hand, he tells us that the people of Hell comprise every violent cruel arrogant person. This hadith teaches us to be humble and keep our promises if we want to be among those in paradise. It also teaches us not to be violent or arrogant if we want to avoid being among those in hellfire. We should strive for humility and kindness so that Allah will accept our deeds on Judgment Day.
