Advice for Caliphs

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that every Caliph has two groups of advisors, one group advises good and the other bad, and Allah is the one who protects.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: That the Prophet said, "No Caliph is appointed but has two groups of advisors: One group advises him to do good and urges him to adopt it, and the other group advises him to do bad and urges him to adopt it; and the protected is the one whom Allah protects".

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek guidance from Allah when making decisions , Choose wise & knowledgeable advisors .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of advice for a caliph. A caliph is a leader or ruler in an Islamic state. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught that every caliph will have two groups of advisors; one group will advise him to do good and urge him to adopt it, while the other group will advise him to do bad and urge him to adopt it. Ultimately, Allah is the one who protects us from making wrong decisions by guiding us towards what is right. We should always seek guidance from Allah when making decisions as He knows best what is beneficial for us in this life and in the hereafter. We should also be mindful of our advisors as they can influence our decisions greatly; we should choose those who are wise and knowledgeable so that we can make informed decisions based on sound advice.
