The Rewards of Good Deeds and Forgiveness of Bad Deeds

SUMMARY: Allah rewards good deeds and forgives bad deeds if they are not done.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet narrating about his Lord I'm and said, "Allah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him); and if he intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times to many more times: and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him, and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then Allah will write one bad deed (in his account) ".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have pure intentions in whatever you do; strive towards doing good; understand God's mercy and grace upon us all .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that Allah rewards good deeds and forgives bad deeds if they are not done. It is narrated by Ibn 'Abbas who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah has appointed angels to write down our good and bad deeds. If someone intends to do a good deed but does not do it, then Allah will still reward them with a full reward for their intention alone. However if someone does the deed then the reward can be from ten to seven hundred times more than what was intended! Similarly if someone intends to do something wrong but doesn't actually do it then Allah will forgive them for their intention alone. But if they go ahead with the wrong deed then only one bad deed will be written in their account with Him. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to have pure intentions in whatever we do as even our intentions can be rewarded or forgiven by God Almighty!
