Sahih al-Bukhari 6436 (Book 81, Hadith 25) #6185
The Insatiable Nature of Humans and Allah's Forgiveness

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the insatiable nature of humans and how Allah forgives those who repent.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: I heard the Prophet saying, "If the son of Adam (the human being) had two valleys of money, he would wish for a third, for nothing can fill the belly of Adam's son except dust, and Allah forgives him who repents to Him".

QUICK LESSONS:
Turn back to Allah in repentance for His mercy knows no bounds.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the insatiable nature of humans. It states that even if a person has two valleys full of money they will still wish for more. This is because nothing can fill the belly of Adam's son except dust. However, it also speaks to Allah's mercy and forgiveness as He forgives those who repent to Him. Therefore this hadith serves as a reminder that although humans may be greedy by nature they should always turn back to Allah in repentance for His mercy knows no bounds.
