Seeking Refuge with Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about seeking refuge from Allah from various afflictions and punishments.

Narrated Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas: The Prophet used to teach us these words as he used to teach us the Book (Qur'an): "O Allah! seek refuge with You from miserliness, and seek refuge with You from cowardice, and seek refuge with You from being brought back to (senile) geriatric old age, and seek refuge with You from the affliction of the world and from the punishment in the Hereafter".

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek help from Allah when faced with difficult situations or hardships. Remember His mercy and blessings at all times.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should seek refuge from Allah for protection against various afflictions and punishments. We should ask Him to protect us from miserliness, cowardice, being brought back to old age, affliction of this world, and punishment in the hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions these words as he taught them about the Qur'an. He wanted them to remember that they should always turn to Allah for help and protection when faced with difficult situations or hardships. By doing so, they will be able to find peace and comfort knowing that their Lord is always there for them no matter what happens.
