Seeking Refuge From Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to seek refuge from Allah from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, cowardice, miserliness and being heavily in debt.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet used to say, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men".
حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's supplication to Allah for protection. He asked for protection from worry and grief, incapacity and laziness, cowardice and miserliness as well as being heavily in debt. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah when we are facing difficulties or hardships in life. We should ask Him for help and guidance so that He can protect us from all the bad things that may come our way. It also teaches us that it is important to be honest with ourselves about our weaknesses so that we can work on them and become better people. Lastly, it reminds us of the importance of financial responsibility so that we do not fall into debt or become overwhelmed by other people's demands on our time or money.
