Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Posture in Mosque

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) lying in the mosque with one of his legs over the other.

Narrated the uncle of 'Abbas bin Tamim: I saw Allah's Messenger lying on his back in the mosque and putting one of his legs over the other.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبَّادُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مُسْتَلْقِيًا، وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an incident where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen lying on his back in a mosque with one of his legs over the other. This shows us that even though he was a prophet and leader of Muslims, he still followed basic etiquette and manners when it came to being inside a mosque. He showed respect for this holy place by not engaging in any activities that would be considered disrespectful or inappropriate. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us to be mindful and respectful when we are inside places of worship as well as to follow proper etiquette at all times.
