EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Um Salama and it speaks to the importance of being mindful of our actions in this life. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) woke up one night and said that many treasures have been sent down from Allah but also many afflictions have been descended. He then asked who would go wake up his wives to pray. Umar then asked if he had divorced his wives and he replied no. This hadith teaches us that although someone may appear well-dressed or successful in this world, they may be naked or unsuccessful in the hereafter if their deeds are not good enough for Allah's pleasure. We should always strive to do good deeds so that we can be successful both here on earth and in the hereafter as well.
