Solving Riddles with Adab

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ asked Ibn Saiyad a riddle and he answered correctly.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Allah's Messenger said to Ibn Saiyad "I have hidden something for you in my mind; What is it?" He said, "Ad-Dukh". The Prophet said, "Ikhsa".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ زَرِيرٍ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَجَاءٍ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لاِبْنِ صَائِدٍ ‏"‏ قَدْ خَبَأْتُ لَكَ خَبِيئًا فَمَا هُوَ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ الدُّخُّ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ اخْسَأْ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's conversation with Ibn Saiyad. The Prophet asked him a riddle, which was "Ad-Dukh" and Ibn Saiyad answered correctly with "Ikhsa". This hadith teaches us the importance of adab, or etiquette, when engaging in conversations. It also shows us that it is important to be able to think quickly and accurately in order to answer questions or solve puzzles.
