Sahih al-Bukhari 6158 (Book 78, Hadith 184) #5913
Kindness and Compassion of the Prophet (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) showed kindness and compassion to those who were sheltered by Um Hani.

Narrated Um Hani: (the daughter of Abu Talib) I visited Allah's Messenger in the year of the Conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath, and his daughter, Fatima was screening him. When I greeted him, he said, "Who is it?" I replied, "I am Um Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib". He said, "Welcome, O Um Hani ! " When the Prophet had finished his bath, he stood up and offered eight rak'at of prayer while he was wrapped in a single garment. When he had finished his prayer, I said, "O Allah's Messenger ! My maternal brother assumes (or claims) that he will murder some man whom I have given shelter, ie, so-and-so bin Hubaira". Allah's Messenger said, "O Um Hani! We shelter him whom you have sheltered". Um Hani added, "That happened in the forenoon".

Be kind & compassionate towards others , Help people in need whenever possible .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the kindness and compassion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Um Hani bint Abu Talib that she visited the Prophet ﷺ in Mecca during its conquest and found him taking a bath while his daughter Fatima was screening him. When she greeted him, he welcomed her warmly. After finishing his bath, he offered eight rak'at of prayer while wearing a single garment. She then told him about her brother's intention to murder someone whom she had given shelter to; upon hearing this, the Prophet ﷺ assured her that they would protect whoever she had sheltered from harm. This incident happened in the forenoon which shows how quickly he responded to her plea for help and protection for those under her care. This hadith teaches us that we should be kind and compassionate towards others just as our beloved prophet ﷺ was towards those who sought refuge with him or with his companions at that time; it also teaches us that we should always be ready to help those in need whenever possible without delay or hesitation as our beloved prophet ﷺ did on this occasion when he immediately responded positively to Um Hani's plea for help without any delay or hesitation whatsoever despite being busy with other matters at hand such as taking a bath at that time.
