Sahih al-Bukhari 6086 (Book 78, Hadith 114) #5843
Compassion in Times of Struggle

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions were trying to conquer Ta'if, but they suffered many wounds in the process. Despite this, the Prophet (PBUH) still showed mercy and compassion by deciding to return home if Allah wills.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: When Allah Apostle was in Ta'if (trying to conquer it), he said to his companions, "Tomorrow we will return (to Medina), if Allah wills". Some of the companions of Allah's Messenger said, "We will not leave till we conquer it". The Prophet said, "Therefore, be ready to fight tomorrow". On the following day, they (Muslims) fought fiercely (with the people of Ta'if) and suffered many wounds. Then Allah's Messenger said, "Tomorrow we will return (to Medina), if Allah wills". His companions kept quiet this time. Allah's Messenger then smiled.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of showing compassion even when faced with difficult situations. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions were trying to conquer Ta'if, but they suffered many wounds in the process. Despite this, the Prophet (PBUH) still showed mercy and compassion by deciding to return home if Allah wills. This teaches us that we should always strive for justice while also being merciful towards others even when faced with adversity or struggle. We should never forget that Allah is always watching over us and will reward us for our good deeds no matter how small they may be. Furthermore, it is important to remember that we should never give up on our goals or dreams just because things get tough; instead we must persevere through any difficulty while also being kind-hearted towards those around us.
