Admonishing with Kindness

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was neither a person who spoke badly nor one who abused others, and he used to admonish people in a gentle manner.

Narrated Anas: Allah's Messenger was neither a Fahish (one who had a bad tongue) nor a Sabbaba (one who abuses others) and he used to say while admonishing somebody, "What is wrong with him? May dust be on his forehead!"

QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful when speaking to others and use kind words even if we are trying to correct them; Try our best to understand other's situations before speaking; Avoid judging or criticizing harshly; Use gentle language while admonishing somebody; Speak kindly even if you disagree with someone else's opinion/actions/beliefs etc..

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) character and how he used to admonish people. He was neither someone who spoke badly nor someone who abused others. Instead of using harsh words or insults when reprimanding someone, he would say something like "What is wrong with him? May dust be on his forehead!" This shows us that we should always be respectful when speaking to others and use kind words even if we are trying to correct them. We should also remember that it is important not to judge or criticize people harshly but instead try our best to understand their situation before speaking.
