Kindness in All Matters

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of being kind and lenient in all matters, even when faced with hostility.

Narrated 'Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) A group of Jews entered upon the Prophet and said, "As-Samu-Alaikum". (ie death be upon you). I understood it and said, "Wa-Alaikum As-Samu wal-la'n. (death and the curse of Allah be Upon you)". Allah's Messenger said "Be calm, O 'Aisha! Allah loves that on, should be kind and lenient in all matters". I said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Haven't you heard what they (the Jews) have said?" Allah's Messenger said "I have (already) said (to them) "And upon you ! "

QUICK LESSONS:
Respond kindly no matter what situation we are in
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of kindness and leniency, even when faced with hostility. It was narrated by Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, a group of Jews entered upon the Prophet ﷺ and said “As-Samu Alaikum” which means “death be upon you”. Aisha understood it and responded with “Wa Alaikum As Samu wal la'n” which means “death and the curse of Allah be Upon you”. However, Allah's Messenger ﷺ told her to remain calm as He loves that one should be kind and lenient in all matters. This teaches us that we should always strive to respond kindly even when faced with hostility or aggression from others. We should not let our emotions get the best of us but instead try our best to remain calm and respond kindly no matter what situation we are in.
