Sahih al-Bukhari 5998 (Book 78, Hadith 29) #5758
Mercy is a Gift from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) taught that mercy is a trait that Allah has put in the hearts of people, and it cannot be taken away by anyone.

Narrated 'Aisha: A bedouin came to the Prophet and said, "You (people) kiss the boys! We don't kiss them". The Prophet said, "I cannot put mercy in your heart after Allah has taken it away from it".
