EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of Hasan and Husain, two grandsons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is narrated that a man asked Ibn Umar about the blood of mosquitoes, to which he replied with surprise that this man was asking him such a question while in Iraq they had killed the grandsons of Prophet Muhammad. He then quoted a saying from Prophet Muhammad himself who said “They are my two sweet-smelling flowers in this world”. This shows us how much love and respect he held for his grandchildren, as well as how much their death was mourned by those around them.
