Shaving Hair After Ihram and Avoiding Talbid

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of shaving one's hair after completing Ihram and avoiding Talbid, which was a hairstyle popular during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I heard 'Umar saying, "Whoever braids his hair should shave it (on finishing Ihram). You'd better not do, something like Talbid". Ibn 'Umar used to say: "I saw Allah's Messenger with his hair stuck together with gum".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abdullah bin Umar, who heard it from Umar. It talks about the importance of shaving one's hair after completing their state of Ihram. During this state, men are not allowed to cut their hair or nails. However, once they have completed their pilgrimage or Umrah, they must shave off all their hair as a sign that they have finished this sacred journey. Additionally, it also warns against a hairstyle called Talbid which was popular during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This style involved braiding one's hair with gum and should be avoided as it goes against Islamic teachings. The hadith teaches us to follow Islamic teachings even in matters related to our appearance and grooming habits.
