Medicinal Benefits of Honey, Cupping & Cauterization

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised that honey, cupping, and cauterization are good medicines but he did not like to be branded.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: I heard the Prophet saying, "If there is any good in your medicines, then it is in a gulp of honey, a cupping operation, or branding (cauterization), but I do not like to be (cauterized) branded.

Honey has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for many ailments such as sore throats and digestive issues. Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a special cup is placed on the skin to create suction in order to increase blood flow and promote healing. Cauterization is a medical procedure used to burn or destroy tissue in order to stop bleeding or remove growths from the body. All three methods have been proven effective in treating various illnesses and conditions, however it should always be done under the supervision of a qualified medical professional.
