Sahih al-Bukhari 5661 (Book 75, Hadith 21) #5435
Forgiveness Through Suffering

SUMMARY: No matter what harm a Muslim faces, their sins will be forgiven.

Narrated 'Abdullah: I visited the Prophet during his illness and touched him while he was having a fever. I said to him, "You have a high fever; is it because you will get a double reward?" He said, "Yes. No Muslim is afflicted with any harm, but that his sins will be annulled as the leave of a tree fall down".

QUICK LESSONS:
Remain patient and hopeful in times of difficulty

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward of suffering for Muslims. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud who visited the Prophet Muhammad during his illness and asked him if he was receiving double rewards due to his fever. The Prophet replied that any harm a Muslim faces will result in their sins being annulled, just like how leaves fall from a tree. This means that no matter what kind of suffering or hardship a Muslim goes through, they will be rewarded for it and their sins will be forgiven. This hadith teaches us to remain patient and hopeful in times of difficulty as Allah rewards those who endure hardships with forgiveness and mercy.
