The Sin of Drinking from Silver Utensils

SUMMARY: Drinking from silver utensils is a sin and will lead to punishment in the afterlife.

Narrated Um Salama: (the wife of the Prophet) Allah's Messenger said, "He who drinks in silver utensils is only filling his 'Abdomen with Hell Fire".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ فِي إِنَاءِ الْفِضَّةِ إِنَّمَا يُجَرْجِرُ فِي بَطْنِهِ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ

This hadith is about the sin of drinking from silver utensils. Allah's Messenger warned that anyone who drinks in silver utensils will be filling their abdomen with hell fire. This means that they will be punished for this action in the afterlife. It is important to remember that we should not do things which are forbidden by Allah as it can lead to severe consequences. We should always strive to do what is right and stay away from sins so that we can have a peaceful life here on earth and also receive rewards in the hereafter.
