Sahih al-Bukhari 5546 (Book 73, Hadith 2) #5321
Slaughtering Sacrifices in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that those who slaughter a sacrifice before the prayer are doing it for themselves, while those who do it after the prayer are following the tradition of Muslims.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "Whoever slaughtered the sacrifice before the prayer, he just slaughtered it for himself, and whoever slaughtered it after the prayer, he slaughtered it at the right time and followed the tradition of the Muslims".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic traditions and practices when performing acts of worship such as sacrificing animals or offering prayers .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about sacrificing animals as an act of worship in Islam. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik, a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ taught that when someone slaughters a sacrifice, they should do so after the prayer to follow the tradition of Muslims. Doing it before the prayer is considered to be done for oneself and not as an act of worship. This hadith teaches us that we should always follow Islamic traditions and practices when performing acts of worship such as sacrificing animals or offering prayers. We should also strive to ensure that our actions are done with sincerity and devotion towards Allah SWT alone, rather than for any other purpose or gain.
