Eating Well-Baked Bread and Roasted Sheep

SUMMARY: Anas bin Malik used to invite people to eat bread and roasted sheep, which he said the Prophet (ﷺ) had never seen before.

Narrated Qatada: We used to visit Anas bin Malik while his baker was standing (and baking). Anas would say, "Eat! I do not know that the Prophet had ever seen well-baked bread till he met Allah, nor had he ever seen a roasted sheep with his own eyes".
حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَأْتِي أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ وَخَبَّازُهُ قَائِمٌ قَالَ كُلُوا فَمَا أَعْلَمُ النَّبِيَّ رَأَى رَغِيفًا مُرَقَّقًا حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللَّهِ، وَلاَ رَأَى شَاةً سَمِيطًا بِعَيْنِهِ قَطُّ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Qatada, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). He used to visit Anas bin Malik while his baker was standing and baking. Anas would invite them to eat the well-baked bread and roasted sheep that he prepared. He said that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had never seen such well-baked bread or a roasted sheep with his own eyes until he met Allah. This hadith teaches us about hospitality, generosity, and kindness towards others. It also shows us how important it is for us to share our blessings with those around us so that we can all benefit from them together.
