Sahih al-Bukhari 4906 (Book 65, Hadith 426) #4687
Forgiveness for the Ansar and their Descendants

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Allah to forgive the Ansar and their children and grandchildren.

Narrated Musa bin 'Uqba: 'Abdullah bin Al-Fadl told me that Anas bin Malik said, "I was much grieve over those who had been killed in the Battle of Al-Harra. When Zaid bin Arqarr heard of my intense grief (over the killed Ansar), he wrote a letter to me saying that he heard Allah's Messenger saying, O Allah! Forgive the Ansar and the Ansar children. The subnarrator, Ibn Al-Fadl, is not sure whether the Prophet also said, And their grand-children". Some of those who were present, asked Anas (about Zaid). He said, "He (Zaid) is the one about whom Allah's Messenger said, 'He is the one whose sound hearing Allah testified'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness towards others regardless of relationship; Show love for all humanity regardless of race or religion; Be grateful towards those who help you in your mission/journey/life etc..

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's supplication to Allah for forgiveness of the Ansars and their descendants. The Ansars were a group of people who helped the Prophet Muhammad in his mission to spread Islam in Medina. They provided him with shelter and protection when he was persecuted by his own people in Mecca. In this hadith, we learn that even though they were not directly related to him by blood or marriage, he still prayed for them as if they were family members. He asked Allah to forgive them all - both those who had passed away as well as those who were still alive at that time - so that they could be blessed with His mercy on Judgment Day. This teaches us how important it is to show kindness towards others regardless of whether or not we are related to them by blood or marriage; it also shows us how much love our beloved Prophet had for all of humanity regardless of race or religion.
