Sahih al-Bukhari 4433, 4434 (Book 64, Hadith 455) #4228
The Prophet's Final Words to His Daughter

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) informed his daughter Fatima of his impending death and her own eventual death, which caused her to weep and then laugh.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet called Fatima during his fatal illness and told her something secretly and she wept. Then he called her again and told her something secretly, and she started laughing. When we asked her about that, she said, "The Prophet first told me secretly that he would expire in that disease in which he died, so I wept; then he told me secretly that I would be the first of his family to follow him, so I laughed ( at that time).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's final words to his daughter Fatima. During his fatal illness, he called her twice and told her something in secret both times. The first time, she wept upon hearing what he said, while the second time she laughed. When asked about it later on, she revealed that the Prophet had informed her of his impending death in the illness he was suffering from, which made her weep; then he told her that she would be the first of his family to follow him in death, making her laugh at this news. This hadith teaches us that even when faced with difficult news such as one's own mortality or a loved one's passing away, it is important to remain strong and have faith in God’s plan for us all.
