Sahih al-Bukhari 4392 (Book 64, Hadith 415) #4188
Compassion Over Condemnation

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) showed mercy and compassion towards those who refused to accept Islam, instead of invoking Allah against them.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Tufail bin 'Amr came to the Prophet and said, "The Daus (nation) have perished as they disobeyed and refused to accept Islam. So invoke Allah against them". But the Prophet said, "O Allah! Give guidance to the Daus (tribe) and bring them (to Islam)!"

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's mercy and compassion towards those who refused to accept Islam. Instead of invoking Allah against them as suggested by Tufail bin 'Amr, the Prophet asked Allah to give guidance to the Daus tribe and bring them into Islam. This hadith teaches us that we should always show mercy and compassion towards others even if they do not share our beliefs or values. We should never wish harm upon anyone but rather pray for their guidance in order for them to find peace in life. It also teaches us that we should never judge someone based on their beliefs or actions but rather try our best to understand where they are coming from and help guide them in a positive direction with patience and kindness.
