Sahih al-Bukhari 4355 (Book 64, Hadith 381) #4154
Dismantling of Dhu-l-Khalasa

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Jarir to dismantle a house called Dhu-l-Khalasa and kill whoever was present there. Jarir did so and informed the Prophet (ﷺ) who then blessed him and Al-Ahmas tribe.

Narrated Jarir: In the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance there was a house called Dhu-l-Khalasa or Al-Ka'ba Al- Yamaniya or Al-Ka'ba Ash-Shamiya. The Prophet said to me, "Won't you relieve me from Dhu-l- Khalasa?" So I set out with one-hundred-and-fifty riders, and we dismantled it and killed whoever was present there. Then I came to the Prophet and informed him, and he invoked good upon us and Al- Ahmas (tribe) .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the dismantling of a house called Dhu l Khalasa or al Ka’ba al Yamaniya or al Ka’ba ash Shamiya during the pre Islamic period of ignorance. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked his companion Jarir to take a group of 150 riders to dismantle this house and kill whoever was present there. After completing this task successfully, Jarir reported back to the Prophet ﷺ who then blessed him and his tribe for their efforts in carrying out this mission. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to follow orders from our leaders even if they are difficult tasks as we will be rewarded for our efforts in doing so. It also teaches us that it is important for us to have faith in our leaders as they will always have our best interests at heart when giving orders or making decisions.
