Poetry as a Weapon in War

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) instructed Hassan bin Thabit to use poetry to abuse the people of Qurayza on the day of their siege.

Al-Bara' bin 'Azib said (through another chain of sub-narrators): "On the day of Qurayza's (siege), Allah's Messenger said to Hassan bin Thabit, 'Abuse them (with your poems), and Jibril is with you'."
وَزَادَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ لِحَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ‏ "‏ اهْجُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَإِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ مَعَكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Qurayza's siege, Allah's Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed Hassan bin Thabit to use poetry as a weapon against them. This was done with Jibril's help and guidance. This hadith shows us that even in times of war and conflict, we should not resort to violence but instead use our words and wisdom as weapons. It also teaches us that we should always seek help from Allah and His angels when faced with difficult situations. We can also learn from this hadith that it is important for us to be creative in our approach towards solving problems or conflicts so that we can find peaceful solutions without resorting to violence or aggression.
