Elevating Ranks Through Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised his companions to perform wudu properly, go to the mosque frequently, and eagerly await the next prayer after one is over in order to elevate their ranks and erase their sins.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "Should I not direct you to something by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates (your) ranks". They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah". He said, "Performing Wudu' properly, even in difficulty, frequently going to the mosque, and waiting eagerly for the next Salat (prayer) after a Salat is over; indeed, that is Ar- Ribat". Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform wudu properly even if it is difficult; Go to the mosque frequently; Eagerly await for the next salah after one has finished; Strive for righteousness by engaging in acts of worship such as prayer which will bring us closer to Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions that performing wudu properly, even if it is difficult, going to the mosque frequently, and eagerly awaiting the next prayer after one is over are all acts of Ar-Ribat. Ar-Ribat means guarding oneself against sinning or doing something wrong. By performing these acts of worship regularly and with sincerity, a person can elevate their rank in front of Allah and have their sins erased. This hadith encourages us to strive for righteousness by engaging in acts of worship such as prayer which will bring us closer to Allah.
