EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of refraining from using silver utensils for eating. It is narrated by Anas bin Sirin and Anas bin Malik that they were in the company of some Magians when Faludhaj was brought in a silver utensil. Upon seeing this, Anas did not take it as he knew that it was not permissible to use such items for eating. The man then changed the utensil and upon seeing this, Anas accepted it. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of what we use to eat our food with as certain materials are prohibited in Islam such as gold or silver items. We should also be aware of where our food comes from so that we can ensure its purity and cleanliness before consuming it. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an example of how one should act with humility even if one has knowledge about something; instead of showing off his knowledge or making others feel embarrassed due to their ignorance on the matter, he chose to remain silent until someone else pointed out what was wrong so that everyone could learn from it without feeling ashamed or embarrassed.
