EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how one should act when a calamity befalls them. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that those who slap their cheeks, tear their clothes, and follow the ways and traditions of Jahiliyyah are not part of his followers. Jahiliyyah refers to the period before Islam was revealed, where people followed customs that were not in line with Islamic teachings. In times of fitnah or calamities, it is important to remember that we should remain steadfast in our faith and practice patience instead of resorting to practices from pre-Islamic times. We must also remember that Allah will always provide us with strength during difficult times if we turn to Him for help.
