Consideration for Others in Conversation

SUMMARY: This hadith teaches us to be considerate of others and not to exclude them from conversations.

Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah said, "When three of you are together, two of you must not converse privately ignoring the third till the number increases, lest the third should be grieved". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Include all members in conversations when there are three or more present.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about being considerate of others when having a conversation. It teaches us that if three people are together, two should not have a private conversation excluding the third person. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was teaching us to be respectful and mindful of other people's feelings by including them in conversations instead of leaving them out. We should always remember that everyone has the right to feel included and respected in any situation or conversation.
