The Virtue of Humility

SUMMARY: This hadith teaches us to be humble and not wrong or be disdainful towards others.

'Iyad bin Himar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah said, "Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you should adopt humility. So that no one may wrong another and no one may be disdainful and haughty towards another". Muslim.
وعن عياض بن حمار رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏إن الله تعالى أوحى إلي أن تواضعوا حتى لا يبغي أحد على أحد، ولا يفخر أحد على أحد‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏ قال أهل اللغة‏:‏ البغي‏:‏ التعدي والاستطالة‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the virtue of humility. It was narrated by Iyad bin Himar, who said that the Messenger of Allah said that Allah revealed to him that we should adopt humility so that no one may wrong another and no one may be disdainful and haughty towards another. In other words, this hadith encourages us to treat each other with respect and kindness, regardless of our differences. We should not think ourselves better than anyone else or act in a way which would make someone feel inferior or belittled. Instead, we should strive to show respect for everyone around us and treat them with kindness as if they were our own family members.
