Supplication for Protection from Enemies

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the supplication Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to make when he was in fear of an enemy.

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Prophet had any fear of an enemy, he used to supplicate: "Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim (O Allah! We put You in front of them, and we seek refuge in You from their evils)". Ahmad and Abu Dawud.

QUICK LESSONS:
Turn towards God during times of distress

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the power of supplicating to Allah in times of fear and distress. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) felt threatened by an enemy, he would turn to Allah and ask for His protection. He would say “Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim” which translates to “O Allah! We put You in front of them, and we seek refuge in You from their evils”. This teaches us that no matter how difficult a situation may seem, we should always turn to Allah for help and guidance as He is our ultimate protector. It also reminds us that no matter how powerful our enemies may be, they are nothing compared to the power of God Almighty.
