The Radiance of Wudu

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, those who have done wudu will be distinguished from others by their radiance.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: "On the Day of Resurrection, my followers (or Ummah) will be summoned 'Al-Ghurr Al-Muhajjalun' from the traces of Wudu'. Whoever can increase the area of his radiance should do so". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform proper wuzoo/wadhu', Do good deeds, Worship Allah often

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of performing wudu in Islam. On the Day of Judgment, those who have done wudu will be distinguished from others by their radiance. This means that they will shine brighter than those who did not perform wudu and this brightness is a sign that Allah has accepted their worship and prayers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encouraged his followers to increase the area of their radiance by doing more good deeds and worshipping Allah more often. Doing so will ensure that they are rewarded on the Day of Judgment for all their efforts in this life. It is important to remember that even small acts such as making sure to do wudu properly can make a difference in our lives both now and in the hereafter.
