Loving the Ansar Brings Love from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that whoever loves the Ansar, Allah will love them in return, and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah will hate them in return.

It was narrated that Bara' bin 'Azib said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah will love him, and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah will hate him'. " (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: "I said to 'Adi: 'Did you hear that from Bara' bin 'Azib?' He said: 'It was to me that he narrated it'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Showing kindness towards others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that if we show love to others, then Allah will show us love in return. The Prophet Muhammad specifically mentioned the Ansar here - a group of people who were among his earliest followers and supporters - but this teaching applies to all people. We should strive to be kind and loving towards everyone we meet, as this is what pleases Allah most. When we do so, He rewards us with His own love and mercy. This hadith also reminds us of how important it is to be grateful for those who have helped us along our journey; by showing kindness towards those who have been kind to us first, we can demonstrate our appreciation for their support.
