The Murji'ah and the Qadariyah in Islam

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that the Murji'ah and the Qadariyah are two types of people who do not have a share in Islam.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'There are two types of people among this Ummah who have no share of Islam: The Murji'ah and the Qadariyah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Trusting in Allah's plan for one's life ; obeying Allah's commands .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two groups of people who do not have a share in Islam. The first group is called the Murji’ah and they believe that faith alone is enough to be saved from punishment on Judgment Day. The second group is called the Qadariyah and they believe that humans can choose their own destiny without any help from Allah. Both of these beliefs are wrong according to this hadith because it teaches us that faith alone cannot save us from punishment on Judgment Day; we must also obey Allah’s commands to be saved. Similarly, humans cannot choose their own destiny without any help from Allah; only He knows what will happen in our lives. Therefore, this hadith teaches us to trust in Allah’s plan for our lives instead of relying on our own understanding or trying to control our fate ourselves.
