Leaving a House When Wealth and Number Decrease

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised a woman to leave her house when her family's number and wealth had decreased.

Malik related to me that Yahya ibn Said said, "A woman came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, 'Messenger of Allah, we moved into a house when our number was great and our wealth was abundant. Now our number has dwindled and the wealth has gone'. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Leave it as blameworthy'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek advice from knowledgeable people; Take advantage of opportunities; Make wise decisions about life
EXPLANATIONS:
A woman came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ seeking advice on what to do with her house. She explained that when they moved into the house their number was great and their wealth was abundant but now it had dwindled. The Prophet ﷺ advised her to leave the house as it would be blameworthy for them to stay in such conditions. This hadith teaches us that we should not remain in a place where our resources are limited or have decreased significantly as this is not beneficial for us. We should strive for better opportunities and take advantage of them if they arise. It also teaches us that we should seek advice from those who are knowledgeable in order to make wise decisions about our lives.
