The Three Sources of Ill Luck

SUMMARY: Ill luck is associated with a house, a woman and a horse.

Malik related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Hamza and Salim the sons of Abdullah ibn Umar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Ill luck is in a house, a woman and a horse".

QUICK LESSONS:
Think carefully before making decisions involving houses , women or horses .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar, states that ill luck can be found in three sources; a house, a woman and a horse. It is important to note that this does not mean that these three things are inherently bad or unlucky; rather it means that one should be careful when dealing with them as they can lead to misfortune if not handled properly. For example, if one buys an expensive horse without considering the cost or upkeep involved then it could lead to financial hardship. Similarly, if one marries without considering the compatibility of the couple then it could lead to marital discord and unhappiness. Finally, if one builds an extravagant home without taking into account their financial situation then it could also cause problems down the line. Therefore this hadith serves as an important reminder for us all to think carefully before making decisions involving these three sources of ill luck so we can avoid any potential misfortune in our lives.
