The Significance of Talbiya

SUMMARY: Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan was advised to do talbiya at the mosque of Dhu'l-Hulayfa after his animal had stood up.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abd al- Malik ibn Marwan had started to do talbiya at the mosque of Dhu'l-Hulayfa, after the animal he was riding on had stood up, and that Aban ibn Uthman had told him to do this.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful towards places of worship, Listen to advice from others and consider it carefully, Remember Allah through supplications .

EXPLANATIONS:
Talbiya is a form of supplication or prayer that is done in a specific place, such as the Mosque of Dhu'l-Hulayfa. In this hadith, Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan was advised to do talbiya at the mosque after his animal had stood up. This suggests that it is important to remember Allah and make supplications in special places like mosques, as well as during special moments like when one's animal stands up. It also shows us how we should be open to advice from others and take their words into consideration.
