Taqwa of Allah Amongst Believers

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a man who was anxious after kissing his wife while fasting in Ramadan. He sent his wife to the Prophet (PBUH) to ask him about it, and Umm Salama told her that the Prophet (PBUH) used to kiss while fasting. However, when the man heard this he still found fault with it and said they were not like the Prophet (PBUH). The Prophet (PBUH) got angry and said he was the one with most taqwa of Allah among them all.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that a certain man kissed his wife while he was fasting in Ramadan. This made him very anxious, and so he sent his wife to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to ask him about that for him. She went in and saw Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and mentioned the matter to her, and Umm Salama told her that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to kiss while he was fasting. So she went back and told her husband that, but it only made him find fault all the more and he said, "We are not like the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Allah makes permissible for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, whatever He wishes". His wife then went back to Umm Salama and found the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with her. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "What's the matter with this woman?", and Umm Salama told him. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Didn't you tell her that I do that myself?" and she said, "I told her, and she went to her husband and told him, but it only made him find fault all the more and say, 'We are not like the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Allah makes permissible for His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, whatever He wishes'. " The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, got angry and said, "By Allah, I am the one with the most taqwa of Allah of you all, and of you all the one who best knows His limits".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in whatever our beloved prophet has done or said; Strive hard towards having more taqwah; Respect for Prophets teachings & actions; Follow God's commands

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how believers should have taqwa of Allah in their lives. It is narrated by Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that a certain man kissed his wife while he was fasting in Ramadan which made him anxious so he sent his wife to ask the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about it. Umm Salama told her that even though kissing is not allowed during fasting, but since Muhammad ﷺ did it himself then it must be permissible for him as well. But when this man heard this, instead of being contented with what Umm Salama said, he found fault with it saying they were not like Muhammad ﷺ and only Allah can make things permissible for His Messenger ﷺ . This made Muhammad ﷺ angry and He declared that He was indeed the one who had most taqwa of Allah amongst them all. This hadith teaches us an important lesson which is that we should always have faith in whatever our beloved prophet has done or said as we know nothing better than Him regarding matters pertaining to religion or life itself. We should also strive hard towards having more taqwa of Allah so we can become closer to Him and attain His pleasure through our deeds InshaAllah!
