Remembering to thank Allah no matter what time it is or what situation we find ourselves in.

This hadith tells us about a prayer that Abu'd-Darda used to recite in the middle of the night. He praised God for His eternal life and power, saying "Eyes have slept, and stars have set, and You are the Living and Self --subsistent". In this way he was reminding himself of how powerful God is even when everything else around him was asleep. It teaches us that we should always remember to thank God for all He has done for us no matter what time it is or what situation we find ourselves in. We should also take comfort in knowing that no matter how dark our lives may seem at times, there will always be a light guiding us through it - that being our faith in Allah Almighty.
