The Benefits of Making Dua

SUMMARY: Making dua (supplication) is beneficial as it will either be answered, stored up for the person, or wrong actions atoned for.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Zayd ibn Aslam used to say, "No-one makes a dua without one of three things happening. Either it is answered, or it is stored up for him, or wrong actions are atoned for by it".

Additionally, any wrong actions that have been committed can be atoned for through making dua. This hadith encourages us to make supplications regularly as we never know what benefit they may bring us in this life or the next.
